After 2014's 25th anniversary edition of their annual report, Avon & Bristol Law Centre decided it was time for a change of approach. Rather than an A5 booklet featuring case studies from each area of legal advice provided, they chose a smaller, fold-out format that required a design to highlight the big issues and achievements of the year (with the design carried over into AGM invitations and materials).
Starting at CD-size and folding out to A3, the 'outside' of the report arranges strategic themes around key statistics in a centrifugal design that functions as size individual 'pages' and a single poster. The 'inside' is structured around a timeline of human rights from 1215 to 2015, along with a client profile, individual feedback and stories about the application of human rights in day-to-day casework. Hopefully the UK's current wrangles with the European Union won't start to take us back along this timeline.
